There 2 mountains near each other at there one is mount Derak and the other mount Ghalat, and there is a vally between them called Tange sorkh. This region is a part of Zagros mountain range which was a warm shallow sea for 200 million years until around 10 million years ago that it came up and from 2 million years ago it had the now a days shape.

Derak is made of a Lime stone that was deposited in a sea which some times lost contact with the oceans, so it was not that much a real sea.

The rocks are belong to around 35 million years. Here in this video I went Hiking there and saw some Trace fossils at there which is the sighn of life on the bed of the sea.

About 5 months ago, By chance, I could find a star fish fossil, which was not that much clear in the stone. I decided to explain a few about the rock and the Geological aspects.

& Then I decided to explain more as I walk along the bed rock to the top of the Hill and chasing the trace of life at that shallow salty water.
